Just when the season is becoming realistic and modelesque, Tyra has to tacky it up. That doesn't mean that the whole episode was annoying, just one part, or two. Overall the episode remained very model centered and not necessarily focused on Tyra's acting abilities, or lack of.
The beginning of the episode surprised us and the models with an actual meeting with Wilhelmina Models director Sean Patterson. Each model hopeful was interviewed by Sean Patterson and Nigel Barker which seemed like a real casting rather than the challenges with the annoying Ann Shoket, editor-in-chief of Seventeen magazine. Shocking the girls, Patterson announced that one of the girls would be leaving the competition then and there. In cycle 11, Hannah was eliminated after the runway challenge before the actual photoshoot. Mr. Jay told the girls in cycle 11 that the one with the weakest runway would be leaving. However, the difference with this cycle's double elimination was that the girls were not told beforehand that one of them would be eliminated.
Then we get to the challenge with Tyra. At first, we see Tyra Banks as a superhero named Supersmize [I know, how embarrassing, but bear with me] who defeats a rude photographer. How?, you may ask; she smized him to death of course! Yes, Tyra introduced us to smize, which is smiling with your eyes. Smiling with your eyes is such a fun phrase to say, smize on the other hand is cheesy and ridiculous. Good thing Supersmize was ran over or something because Tyra came out later and actually helped the girls to smile with their eyes and work their faces to their advantage; which I find extremely helpful to the contestants. The winners of the first challenge this cycle went on a dinner with Sean Patterson while the losers washed their dishes.
For the photoshoot, the girls posed half-nude with a jockey and horse. For the most part, the pictures do exude a high fashion quality while some fall flat.
As for the drama, Jennifer and Bianca had an argument over the dishes at their house but sadly did not escalate to anything major. Brittany also commented on a discussion in regards to Courtney's performance at the photoshoot which actually made sense because a model doesn't have anyone else to blame for a bad performance but themselves. Obviously, Courtney found this disrespectful.
Brittany

How can she be doing that pose on a horse!? This clearly is the best photo of the bunch. Her face is stunning and she looks 5'10 which is a big plus.
Laura

This country girl is also in my top 3 with Nicole and Brittany. Last week, her photo lacked a great pose but evidently she learned her lesson. The lifted shoulder and her smiling with the eyes add to the already gorgeous photo.
Nicole

The simplicity of this photo works. It seems almost effortless with a melancholic feel to it in the eyes.
Erin - First Call-Out

This photo isn't bad, it's actually amazing but the ones above it are even better. I can see why the judges would choose it as the best photo of the week though. Her pose and piercing eyes accentuate the smiling with your eyes concept.
Rae

These short girls, well most of them, know how to elongate their bodies and Rae is one of them.
Lulu

Lulu is flying under the radar. The judges don't give her as much credit as she deserves. Most of the girls went for sexy while Lulu's photo brings more of a sweeter and innocent feel to it.
Jennifer

Jennifer's lazy wonky eye was criticized but she still delivered a good shot. Good, not excellent.
Kara

I actually like this picture of Kara. She looks more like Denise Richards here but a tad less masculine.
Sundai

Everyone knows that Sundai is the shortest girl of the cycle. And in her photo, she looks like the shortest girl of the cycle. She needs to lean forward instead of back to create the illusion that she's taller.
Courtney - Eliminated

She was eliminated for the "giving up on yourself" reason even though her picture isn't that bad. She does look irritated in her the photo but Bianca should have left. However, I'm not going to cry a river over Courtney's departure.
Ashley

"Why is that guy there?" you may ask. Well this is Ashley's first test shot which explains that random staff member. Tyra chose this because Ashley was too posey and robotic in her film except for this picture and wanted to make a point - as always. Ashley's film wasn't that great to begin with but at least they did retouch the man out for the panel judging. I decided to include this version because A. this is the one they had on the CW website and B. when will I have another opportunity to post a picture like this?
Bianca - Bottom Two

Rupaul made a guest appearance on ANTM. Im kidding, Rupaul doesn't look as masculine as this. When Miss Jay told Bianca that Iris the transsexual from cycle 11 looked more feminine, I couldn't help but laugh. Bianca needs to leave next week!
Rachel - Eliminated

We didn't get to see Rachel do the photoshoot which I think is a big loss. I know she would have delivered a brilliant shot. When she was eliminated, you can tell how sincerely shocked and sad she was. I wish she could have stayed longer. Since she didn't pose with a horse, here's a candid from last weeks episode.
I have also decided to include candids of the episode because the one of Rachel is amazing. I will include last weeks with last nights episode since its too late to include it with my past post.
